The Austin Bluffs Corridor Project is a critical component in solving east-west mobility issues that have impacted travelers for years.

Two phases of the Austin Bluffs Corridor Project have been completed at Union Blvd. and at Nevada Ave.

This third phase will widen three segments of the roadway.
  • Segment One - Nevada Ave. to Union Blvd.
  • Segment Two - Union Blvd. to Meadowland Blvd.
  • Segment Three - Barnes Rd. to Old Farm Dr.

Project Introduction

To keep in pace with the area’s rapid population growth, the Pikes Peak region faces many transportation improvement challenges. Addressing these challenges is a top priority; voters demonstrated their commitment by approving a one-cent sales tax that created the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA). This funding mechanism enables City Engineering to coordinate and implement needed projects like this one.

Our goal for this project is to improve mobility, safety and system connectivity while also enhancing the neighborhoods, institutions and businesses along the corridor. The design is complete and the contractor will be selected later this year.
